Amid new reports detailing the disastrous dimensions of Gaza's impending humanitarian crisis, renowned strategist Martin Sherman - founder and executive director of the Israel Institute for Strategic Studies - has analyzed the situation with his usual cutting discernment, and suggests a game-changing proposition.

Responding to a document from the Congressional Research Service on US Foreign Aid to the Palestinians, Sherman reviewed the massive foreign aid that has been pumped into Gaza for the past several decades, and declared, "The current situation in Gaza and the accompanying misery or the direct results of the misguided attempt to foist statehood on the Palestinian Arabs."

"The problem of Gaza was irrefutably created by the belief that land could be transferred to the Palestinian Arabs to provide them a viable opportunity for self-governance. ...This concept must therefore be abandoned for any lasting resolution to be possible," he said.

In a proposal to change the dire reality in Gaza, Sherman offered a humanitarian solution building on the polls indicating massive rates of Gazan Arabs responding favorably to emigration, in a call to "let their people go."
