Another Muslim terror attack in Europe; this time in Spain - again. No one expects it to be the last one. Western Europe (Eastern European countries generally refuse to open their doors to Muslims) just does not know how to handle it. One does not need a long historical perspective to appreciate the irony of the continuing attacks upon Europe.
For years, when Israel singularly bore the brunt of Muslim terror attacks, Europe pursued a policy of appeasement and deflection of Muslim "rage" towards Israel and the "Palestinian" cause. They hoped that this would contain the slaughter to that of Jews only. To this end, they coddled the PLO and treated Israel as the Cinderella of the world.
Those with common sense and some foresight and an ability to learn from history knew back then that Israel was just the beginning.
Appeasing evil has never worked. Israel was the canary in the coal mine but no one wanted to listen as the avalanche approached.
Meanwhile, as Israel was forced to stand alone in its defense against Islamofascism disguised as "Palestinian resistance," it was forced to hone its skills, and thus Israel is today the very best in fighting terror. Its society is the most resilient in the face of it. The lessons that Israel has learned the hard way as it was isolated and scorned will have to be learned by a soft and complacent Europe that has lost its sense of identity and will to fight. Moral relativism and the long shadow of political correctness has thus far shackled them from dealing with the threat to their civilization. They are still busy pouring vast sums into anti-Israel organizations in the hope that the god of appeasement can still be mollified and they can avoid having to actually identify an enemy.
They are having a hard time. Spain was once the most powerful country in the world - when it was the center of world Jewry. However, in 1492 they gave the Jews a choice; convert or get out. Overnight, Spain was emptied of its Jews, led by their leader Don Isaac Abarbanel. Don Isaac was a friend and adviser to King Ferdinand. As he led the Jews out of Spain he left a blistering letter for his erstwhile friend. In short, he predicted the swift demise of Spain now that its most vital population was leaving.
Spain sunk quickly. Other countries experienced the same. Spain and Europe did not want the Jews - who had made contributions way above their numbers in society, and brought great blessing everywhere they went. So my dear Spain and Europe, you made your choice. Enjoy your new guests.
